The Climate Service Center

The Climate Service Center is a collaboration between the Meteorological Institute, the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate, NORCE and the Bjerknes Center. The main goal is to provide a decision-making basis for climate adaptation in Norway.

Seklima

Seklima is provided by the Norwegian Climate Service Center. Here you get access to observations and weather statistics, station information, wind roses and values for rainfall intensity.

MET Norway's Weather API provides custom built interfaces to a selection of data produced by MET Norway. It is intended for developers who want to integrate our data in their own systems.

Air Quality in Norway

The Norwegian Environment Agency, the National Road Administration, the Norwegian Road Administration, the Meteorological Institute, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and the Norwegian Directorate of Health are responsible for air quality in Norway. Here you will find local air quality alerts for the whole of Norway.

AeroVal

AeroVal is an online platform for evaluating climate and air quality models. The service is a collaboration between the Atmosphere Monitoring Service, AeroCom and the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.

Data from Other Providers

MET Norway cooperates with other meteorological institutes in Europe, and has the right to license data from the ECMWF and data listed in the ECOMET catalog to third parties in Norway. In addition, we collaborate with other Norwegian environmental institutes to harmonize the data management nationally and internationally.

EUMETNET

EUMETNET is a grouping of 31 European National Meteorological Services that provides a framework to organise co-operative programmes between its Members in the various fields of basic meteorological activities. These activities include observing systems, data processing, basic forecasting products, research and development and training.

The European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) produces monthly and seasonal forecasts. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute is the "action agent" for data from ECMWF.

The Arctic Data Centre (ADC) is a service provided by MET Norway to integrate data collections from several Norwegian and international environmental institutes. It serves as a virtual data center managing distributed data in line with the FAIR principles and international initiatives toward Data Spaces.
